I spy

David Lautenbach watches for birds along the Flat River Saturday morning in Lowell. Lautenbach and his family were out watching as part of the Grand Rapids Audubon Club's Christmas Bird Count for Kent County, an annual event of bird watching and tallying numbers of those birds observed. David Lautenbach has participated in the event since 1981 and has seen many rare birds including bald eagles and common loons.
